In the late 90's I was racing dirt bikes competitively. I needed a reliable truck to get me all around the country. So I purchased Blue brand new in September of 99. Fast forward a few years and the pressure of college and work and racing was too much to handle. So I took a break from racing bikes. I found myself board and fascinated with turbo chargers. I decided to risk it all and give it a try. I had no idea what I was doing but somehow I pulled it off!
Originally I just wanted the turbo noises. I had no idea how big of a difference the turbo was going to make. I began cruising the New Orleans lake front and trying my luck at racing. I was meeting tons of people, having so much fun, making a lifetime of memories and getting all kinds of attention. I kept improving the turbo system and making it more professional. It wasn't long before everyone wanted me to turbocharge their cars.
Back then the forums were just taking off. A friend of mine was active on the Honda forums and suggested I get involved with an S10 forum. So that's exactly what I did. It was a whole new world. There was always someone to talk to about S10's online 24/7. I began to post pictures, videos, timeslips etc. I just wanted to show people how to turbocharge their trucks and get credit for being the guy that figured it out. I never dreamed so many people would start sending me money.
I was ambitious. Once people started sending me money I was all in. I spent the next 15 years developing my trade, creating new products, trying to grow the business as large as possible. Trying to generate as much business as possible (with no formal training or experience). Unfortunately I was able to generate the demand but not able to keep up with the demand. Not to mention I ended up attracting a few terrible customers that made life miserable. Things were looking bad...
There was only 2 companies in the world specializing in the 2.2L GM platform. My company DTS specialized in turbo systems and drag racing. Then there was Import Performance Parts that specialized in N/A circle track racing. Phil had invested a lot of time developing engine internals and it was easier to just buy them from him. After years of doing business with him to help our high HP builds, we partnered up in 2011 and created Chevy Cavalier World to offer DTS tuning services to all of the IPP circle track racers. Things were looking WAY up!
The partnership was a great success for both of us. We went on to develop several popular new products together. Eventually in 2015 Phil retired and DTS took over full time management of CCW. However the platform was getting old. Demand was steadily decreasing as the years went on. We knew we could only survive on the 2.2L niche for so long. It was time to make a decision. Start all over on a new platform or focus on something else. The decision was obvious. It was time to quit selling parts and focus on our greatest success. Tuning!
I have transitioned from DTS to SIEpower. My focus is now on teaching people how to make HP and fabricate / build things on their own rather than to just sell them the parts. It's the teach a man to fish rather than feed him theory. So I'm going to divulge tons of trade secrets as well as share all of my epic experiences on YouTube full time now. I'm currently developing a very powerful and innovative tuning software that will revolutionize the industry. It will provide unparalleled fuel tuning the likes of which the world has never seen! It will eventually be released to the public but for now I can personally process your data and provide the same results. Contact me below for more information.
I've had the idea and desire to facilitate an automotive performance themed Bible study for a LONG time. Now that things are slowing down and getting under control it's finally time to get it going. Look for live feeds on the SIEpower YouTube channel if this is something you might be interested in.
