The stage 1 kit was designed to be affordable and simple to install while providing the much needed performance boost to the 2.2L engines. This kit will bring a completely stock 2.2L S-10 from mid 18's to low 15's in the 1/4 mile. Zero to 60 times will improve from 11 seconds to 7 seconds. Horsepower at the wheels will increase from the stock 100hp up to around 200hp. Highway gas mileage improved from 26mpg to 31mpg at a cruising speed of 75mph*. City gas mileage without hitting boost is undecided... we just can't resist the urge to boost! Drivability remains unchanged. There are no idle, starting, or overheating problems. Stage 1 kits are set at 8psi. However, Stage 1 kits are capable of producing around 400hp to the wheels when combined with a built engine and the fuel and ignition components needed to support boost levels of 20psi.
